X: Seekers of Fortune™ is a game of both action and reaction, where players are constantly choosing between advancing their own strategy or disrupting their rivals. While some actions go unchallenged, many are met with resistance—and sometimes, outright denial.

When an adventurer goes on the search for treasure, they never know what they will find. They may set off on an expedition with a goal in mind, but no great story goes according to plan, and the wonders found along the way could lead them to fortunes untold. But to earn fortune’s favor, it is up to you make shrewd use of the discoveries you found along the way.

After five minutes of playing on auto-pilot, you look down and realize your opponent has established two Sites and a Relic in their Action Zone. Uh-oh. You start reading the cards and it immediately becomes clear that these three game pieces work together to give your opponent a long-term strategic advantage. Enter Sabotage. Sabotage is a Heroic Feat that allows you to destroy active Relics and Sites in your opponent’s Action Zone.

Are you sick of your opponent taking 7 actions and completing 2 Adventures on the first turn of the game? Well, it is time to throw a wrench into their plans with Thwart. The Thwart Heroic Feat allows you to counter any Feat played by an opponent, including Heroic Feats. It is a key tool in guiding the game in a favorable direction. That said, Thwarting comes at the steep cost of 2 matching Leads, and it must be used wisely or you risk throwing away crucial resources. There are only two reasons one should ever Thwart.

A player can win the game by either completing 5 Adventures or by completing 4 Adventures and then Breaking Through, both of which require a significant amount of resources. But, what is Resource Advantage?

Imagine a world where the only cards you can play are the ones you draw off the top of the deck. You could launch into a hot streak and smash your opponent, but you could also strike out and draw three duds in a row. Enter the Heroic Feats. This array of six static actions provides a massive counterbalance to the variance of drawing Adventures, Leads, and Action X cards from randomized decks. They will be available to you in every single game of X: Seekers of Fortune, so it is critical to understand when and how to use them.
